These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the OurSecrets mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Service”), operated at https://oursecretsapp.com. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
You are solely responsible for the content you post, comment on, vote on, or otherwise submit through the Service. OurSecrets does not verify, endorse, or guarantee that user-submitted secrets or other content are true, accurate, or complete.
You must comply with these Terms, our Community Guidelines, applicable laws, and the rules of any app store through which you access the Service.
The Service allows users to share pseudonymous posts, comments, votes, and related interactions. You retain responsibility for your content. By posting, you grant OurSecrets a limited license to host, display, process, and moderate that content as needed to operate the Service, enforce our policies, and comply with law.
OurSecrets is designed for pseudonymous sharing. Your real name is not required for normal public posting, but your chosen nickname may be displayed with secrets, comments, or other activity. Account, moderation, security, and technical records may still be associated with your account internally.
You choose a nickname for your account. Nicknames may be displayed publicly with your content and activity. Do not include real names or sensitive identifying information in your nickname. A nickname does not guarantee complete anonymity.
OurSecrets may contain platform-generated or AI-generated seed content used to support the Service. Such content is not necessarily a submission from a real user.
You may not use the Service to post, request, promote, or facilitate content that includes:
Users may vote on content and submit reports when they believe content violates our rules. Community voting helps surface community sentiment but is not a legal determination of truth. Reports and votes may trigger review, hiding, restriction, or removal of content.
OurSecrets may review, hide, restrict, or permanently remove content through automated systems, community reports, community voting, or human moderation. We may take action with or without notice when we believe content violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines, applicable law, or creates safety or legal risk.
We may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk to users, the Service, or third parties. Restrictions may apply to posting, commenting, voting, reporting, subscriptions features, or full account access.
You may delete your account from inside the app. Configured account-linked records are removed during account deletion according to our operational and legal requirements. Deleting an OurSecrets account does not automatically cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Store subscriptions must be managed separately through the relevant store account settings.
Some information may remain for a period in backups, with service providers, or where retention is necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or active legal obligations.
Some features may require a paid subscription or in-app purchase processed by Apple, Google, or another authorized store. Billing, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and payment disputes are handled according to the applicable store’s terms and policies. OurSecrets does not control store billing systems.
Our collection and use of information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that policy.
Information may be disclosed only when required by applicable law or a valid lawful official request, such as a court order, subpoena, or equivalent legal process, and only to the extent permitted or required.
OurSecrets is not an emergency service, police service, medical service, or crime-reporting authority. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services right away. Do not rely on the Service for urgent safety response.
We strive to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change, be limited, or be discontinued. Maintenance, updates, third-party outages, or events outside our control may affect availability.
We may revise these Terms to reflect legal, technical, or operational changes. When we make material updates, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page. Your continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.
